Police department tours involve a guided visit to various work areas of our agency. These tours aim to provide participants (community members, students, or clubs/groups) with insights into the workings of law enforcement agencies. During the tour, participants may have the opportunity to visit areas such as:
- Communications Center: Where non-emergency calls are received and dispatched to officers in the field.
- Patrol Division: Where officers prepare for their shifts and deploy on patrol.
- Training & Equipment Facilities: Where officers undergo training in various skills, including firearms, TASER, legal procedures, and other important job-related subjects.
- Evidence Processing Room: Where collected evidence is stored and managed according to strict protocols.
- Specialized Units: Such as our Investigations Division, showcasing specialized equipment and tactics used in high-risk situations.
- Squad Car: Visitors will see the inside of a police unit and experience sitting inside, as well as see the equipment used by patrol officers.
Throughout the tour, participants will have the opportunity to interact with the guide and maybe even officers or other staff, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the challenges and responsibilities of law enforcement professionals. Our goal is offer our visitors a better understanding of the daily routine and inner workings of a police department.
Tour length: Varies per size of group, but typically 30-45 minutes

- Respectful Behavior: All participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner throughout the duration of the tour.Â
- Follow Instructions: Participants must adhere to all instructions provided by the tour guide and/or police department staff. This includes staying with the group, refraining from touching equipment unless given permission, and following safety protocols at all times.
- Confidentiality: Participants must respect the confidentiality of any sensitive information or procedures observed during the tour. Photography or recording of any kind is prohibited unless explicitly permitted by the tour guide.
- Stay with the Group: Participants must stay with the designated tour group at all times. Straying from the group or wandering into restricted areas is strictly prohibited for safety and security reasons.
- Emergency Procedures: In the event of an emergency or evacuation, participants must follow the instructions provided by police department staff. Familiarize yourself with the nearest emergency exits and assembly points.
- Personal Belongings: Participants are responsible for their personal belongings at all times. The police department is not liable for any lost or stolen items.
Dress Code: Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and appropriately for the tour. Avoid wearing clothing with offensive language or imagery.
