The Municipal Court’s main purpose is to contribute to the quality of life in our community by fairly and impartially administering justice in the most effective, efficient, and professional manner possible.
The Municipal Court has exclusive jurisdiction over actions involving traffic and ordinance violations under which the penalty is a forfeiture. The Court conducts all initial appearances and trial proceedings and enters judgment accordingly. The Court is also responsible for maintaining all court records, setting the bond schedule for all non-traffic offenses and issuing warrants and commitments for defendants who fail to appear or comply with court orders. The Court also has the authority to perform marriages.
