Our police department can offer a variety of presentations tailored to address community needs and interests. Target audiences that can benefit from these discussions are business staff, school faculty, youth groups, residents of assisted living facilities, and other organizations’ memberships. Typically, our Community Liaison Offer handles most of the presentations, but occasionally receives assistance from other officers on specific topics. Some common presentations include:
- Crime Prevention: Covering tips and strategies for preventing various types of crime, including burglary, theft, vandalism, and personal safety.
- Community Policing Initiatives: Explaining how the police department engages with the community through programs such as neighborhood watch, citizen patrols, and community outreach events.
- Emergency Preparedness: Offering guidance on how individuals and communities can prepare for and respond to emergencies such as natural disasters, active shooter situations, or terrorist threats.
- Drug Awareness and Prevention: Educating the community about the dangers of drug abuse, identifying signs of drug activity, and offering resources for prevention and rehabilitation.
- Cybersecurity and Online Safety: Addressing the risks of cyber-crime, identity theft, online scams, and strategies for protecting personal information and staying safe online.
- Traffic Safety: Discussing traffic laws, common causes of accidents, the importance of seat-belt use and safe driving practices, and enforcement efforts to improve road safety.
- Youth Outreach and Education: Engaging with young people through presentations on topics such as internet safety, bullying prevention, decision-making skills, and the consequences of delinquent behavior.
These presentations are usually delivered via in-person sessions. Please fill out the form to send your request and a representative will get back to you. In order to properly prepare and help ensure availability, we recommend presentation requests be made 30 days prior to the anticipated date, but exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. We will do our best to accommodate your request and provide a meaningful presentation for your organization/group.
