Donations & Volunteering

Volunteering

The Parks and Recreation department has many ways to be involved through volunteering. Every year we sponsor 8-10 volunteer work days throughout the park system. Historically, volunteer work days have consisted of invasive species removal, trail development, planting trees and general clean-up.

Individuals are encouraged to sign up for volunteer work days by contacting the Parks and Recreation department.

Groups / Organizations
Whether you are Boy/Girl Scout Troop, homeschool group, church or Fortune 500 Company, we can customize a volunteer work event for your group. Park and recreation staff will meet with leaders to determine the group’s needs and devise and implement a plan to provide a great experience for your group and the village.

Eagle Scout Projects
The Parks and Recreation department keeps a list of potential projects for individuals desiring to complete their Eagle Scout Leadership Project with the Village of Fox Crossing. Parks and Recreation staff will sit down and discuss potential projects and ideas with the scout. As part of the process, the scout must put together a proposal and present the idea during a park and recreation commission meeting. Once approved, the scout is then responsible for coordinating the work and supplies needed to complete the project.

Individual and Corporate Giving

A quality Parks and Recreation system contributes to the overall quality of life of a community by providing public health, social, environmental and economic benefits. Become part of the legacy by contributing to one of the funds listed below, to a specific recreation program, special event, general park development, or a specific park development project. If you have an idea for something else, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for more information.

The Fox Crossing Parks and Recreation Department maintains these specific funds:

  • Urban Forestry Tree Fund – supplements tree planting funds and related projects.
  • Trail Fund – for trail amenities such as benches, comfort stations.
  • Friends of the Park – a general donation fund for monies that may or may not be designated for a specific purpose.
  • Round-Up For Recreation – rounding up your program fees helps to provide financial assistance to those unable to afford the program fees for youth activities.

Community Foundation of the Fox Valley
The Parks and Recreation Department maintains a fund at the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley. The fund is managed by the foundation with guidance from the donor.
